Cylinder Heads: Standard & modified for unleaded fuel & performance use
We recommend three basic stages of cylinder head modification for the MGA.
Stage 1: MGA99 or MGA99LF (unleaded) for fast road use modified, and gas flowed, fitted with
1.5625” inlet Valves and 1.344” exhaust valves.
Stage 2: MGA100 or MGA100UNLD (unleaded), for rally use, modified, polished and fully gas
flowed to a higher specification than the fast road head. Fitted with either 1.5625” or 1.625” inlet
valves and 1.344” exhaust valves depending on engine capacity.
Stage3: MGA101 or MGA101UNLD (unleaded), for race use, the ultimate “state of the art” fully
modified, polished and gas flowed head. Fitted with 1.5625” or 1.625” inlet valves and 1.344”
exhaust valves depending on engine capacity and the camshaft used. For large bore full race
engines with an MGA321 camshaft 1.69” inlet and 1.44” exhaust valves can be used. Bronze
valve guides are fitted.
All heads are supplied fully assembled with suitable valve springs, ready to fit to your engine.
